Literal meaning of madhubani is same as its characteristics which is 'forest of honey'. A legend shows the cultural value of madhubani. it says that when Sita Maa from Ramayana was being married to lord Ram then king Janak (father of maa sita) ordered to decorate the whole town by Madhubani from of painting. Even today in some part of India madhubani illustrate the thought, hopes, dremas and culture of them.
