Madhubani Art

Madhubani art is one of the most fascinating art form in the world. Its origin is as much old as it is enthraling to the viewers eyes. It started her journey with picturing celebrated figures like Budha and Mahavira since 600 BCE in region of bihar border of India and nepal.

Literal meaning of madhubani is same as its characteristics which is 'forest of honey'. A legend shows the cultural value of madhubani. it says that when Sita Maa from Ramayana was being married to lord Ram then king Janak (father of maa sita) ordered to decorate the whole town by Madhubani from of painting. Even today in some part of India madhubani illustrate the thought, hopes, dremas and culture of them.

Madhubani - The way of beauty 

The paint used in this form is directly extracted from plants. Despite being the great great great.....grandmother of other art forms it is still well preserved in Mithila (birth place of Sita maa).

It has five distinctive style they are Bharni, Katchni, Tantrik, Godna and kohbar.

Madhubani reflects the values that enshrined India's household since ancient times. It is not just a symbol of traditional marvellous of our country but also our pride, culture, dreams and freedom.
